They're *in* the Computer...

Happy Monday!  The weekends never seem long enough…and I started this morning off by oversleeping.  FAIL!

My weekend was lovely!  The only bummer was not spending a lot of time with my sweetie.  We just had different things going on.  But we are going to have lots of time to spend together soon.  We are both extremely excited about our upcoming trip to CABO!!!  We leave in TEN DAYS!  We will also be there for our one year anniversary - aren't we cute! :)  I can hardly wait.  We are staying at the Barcelo.  I have never been to Cabo so this will be super fun.

Mom and I had a fantastic day Saturday.  She went with me to the salon to get the product washed out.  I washed my hair last night and dried it, probably took only 15 minutes, which was a major improvement.  But the real test was this morning, I woke up, ran the flat iron through my hair in a few pieces and I was done.  Here is a photo for your viewing pleasure below  J

We went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond so I could get a scale.  Well, Pet Smart had a dog rescue out in front so of course I wanted to go look at the dogs.  I FELL IN LOVE with one!  She was a 3 month old pug named Isabella.  The rescue let me hold her but I could not let her on the ground since she didn’t have all her puppy shots yet.  She just sat in my lap and licked my neck.  If I was living in a place where dogs were allowed, that sweet doggie would have come home with me!  Jerod said when we get our own place we can get a dog!  FYI: I am currently renting a house with a roommate and our lease is up in September.  I cannot wait!  Jerod and I will be moving in together at that time – I know..I know..sinners.  Anyway, I definitely can not wait to rescue a dog and give him/her a good home!  And blast, I should have taken a photo!  I need to work on my photo journalism skills!

UPDATE!  I went to the Dog Rescue's website and got a photo of the doggie I fell in love with!  Isn't she ADORABLE!

We went to Target on the hunt for sandals.  Before we walked in, I dropped my phone, and cracked the face.  That’s the first phone I have ever done that to.  Thankfully, I had insurance and I will be receiving a new phone tomorrow!  Here is the damage:

So, I found some sandals…remember…I *needed* dressier-ish sandals for work to go with the new clothes I ordered that I *needed* as well.  So here are the pics (and my rationalization):
I needed some summer-y black flats.  I have about worn my other pairs out and these will be great for summer with skirts and skinny jeans…

These are not so much more dressy but they are cute, comfy, and will look a little more professional for work.  I have them on today and it’s like walking on air…

I do not wear much brown.  In fact, I never wear brown.  And I’m not really sure why.  But, I needed a neutral color to wear with the khaki colored linen pants I bought, so I went with these bronze beauties!  I also believe silver is a neutral too, but I digress…

Mom and I LOVED Phantom!!!  The area where the theatre is located is not the greatest.  The theatre is tucked into a run-down shopping strip and you probably would not even notice it driving by.  Here is the theatre sign:

Here is the poster for Phantom.

I loved this version!  You really saw the background of the Phantom and why he turned out as he did.  You also see the story of Christine’s beginnings at the Paris Opera House.  The singing was amazing.  I love supporting local talent.  The woman that played Christine was a recent graduate of SMU and the woman who played Carlotta (she was AWESOME) was a recent graduate of TCU.  They do “theatre in the round” at the Artisan.  Basically the stage is the floor and there is seating on all 4 sides.  It’s really cool and so different from your typical theatre experience.  I took one picture to give you an idea:

Neil Simon’s Proposals is next, so we might see that one.  But I will definitely be checking out the one after…The Sound of Music…one of my all-time favorites.  I want to dance around the Austrian Alps like Maria does singing…”The Hiiiilllls are alive…”  But again, I digress.

I had a lot of spare time to read this weekend.  I began and finished:  Sickened – The True Story of a Lost Childhood by Julie Gregory.  It is the story of a woman that grew up enduring a very specific type of child abuse - Munchausen by proxy.  This book was high disturbing and even painful at times to read, but it gives a real picture of this often hidden disease.
I am now reading:  Dying for Triplicate: A True Story of Addiction, Survival, & Recovery by Todd Zalkins.  A triplicate is the required prescription type for certain narcotics.  I am a little over half-way in and his story is pretty moving.  So many people do not know the dangers of prescription drugs and how easy it is to get addicted and begin to abuse them.

That’s all for now, you guys have a wonderful week!!!!

Title Disclosure: In honor of one of my favorite movies being on this weekend and me sitting down to watch it (with commercials – even though I have it on DVD, why do we do that?) --- ZOOLANDER!  Owen Wilson’s character Hansel (He’s so hot right now!) realizes that a computer is not a storage place for paper files, but rather they are located *inside* the computer.  And yes, I love these kinds of movies.  I have the sense of humor of a 13 year old boy.  Haha!
